Charisse is a contemporary still life, landscape and conceptual artist, very much a colorist and purist with emphasis on extremely vivid and bold colors made even bolder with thick and rich palette knife strokes. She paints anything that inspires her - how light strikes a vase or a petal, how intense the color of a flower enlivens her. She finds herself so blessed because her work has graced and continues to grace several shows and can be found in many private collections all over the country.

"Painting for me is like falling in love and being in love - intense, sometimes calm and mellow, but always beautiful and always a gift. Anything can inspire me. It is in what I see and in what I feel. It can be the boldness of a color, the dance of light striking an object or mountain, the softness and fluidity of a fabric, the strong and masculine lines that I see. And because I am forever feeling and evolving I now find deep inspiration in human form and behavior both the blissfully transcendental and the painfully flawed.

We exhibit one member film monthly: inspirational films, shorts, documentaries, animation, etc. (any medium) that inspires one to laugh, cry, sing, dance or take action! These films will be juried at the end of the year and a financial award will be granted one film. If you are a film maker and wish to submit your film, please contact jaynemariepeace@aol.com or send us your film link by email, your photo in jpeg format, and a bio (with contact information) about you and the film. If selected, it will show for one month, we send out a news release and invite our elists and members to view it and to leave comments for you to discuss... you may also invite your friends & associates to view it and weigh in with their comments! Because it is our first year sponsoring this project, we have waived entrance fees.
